The Magnolia Trust
Company: Our Story

About Us

Stewardship for Generations.

Magnolia Trust Company was founded to serve the high-net-worth and ultra-high net-worth families advised by Moore Colson, a CPA and Advisory firm located in Atlanta. Since 1981, Moore Colson has earned the trust of these families. Magnolia carries forward Moore Colson’s trusted relationship with its clients to future generations by serving in the role of trustee.

Magnolia Trust Company was chartered in Tennessee in 2019 with a clear vision: to provide an independent trustee solution that delivers long-term value for families across generations.

Magnolia was created with a singular focus—fiduciary excellence without investment conflicts.

From the beginning, we understood that families require more than technical administration. They require:

  • Continuity beyond any individual
  • Objectivity in complex family dynamics
  • Compliance oversight under regulatory supervision
  • Institutional memory that preserves legacy and intent
  • Foresight and readiness as planning needs evolve

In just a few short years, Magnolia has grown to over $2 billion in assets under administration, serving families across the United States, with a strong concentration in the Southeast.

Our Community

Valuing Our Community

One of our business owner clients describes giving back to your community as “paying your corporate rent.” In essence, we, the fortunate and blessed, are obliged to share our time, talent and treasure in the communities we serve. Magnolia supports its community by:

  • Encouraging team members to follow their passions and join organizations they support
  • Giving team members time off from work to volunteer and engage in community activities
  • Financially supporting organizations that make a difference in our communities
  • At Magnolia Trust Company, we are deeply committed to supporting the local community through various initiatives

Organizations We Support

Families First

A Culture of Putting Families First

At Magnolia, “family” is not simply the client profile we serve — it is how we operate.

We understand that trust administration is as much about people as it is about policy. About conversations as much as compliance.

Our service model reflects that belief.

Every family is supported by a dedicated team with multiple points of contact. We respond to inquiries within twenty-four hours. We schedule meetings at the frequency and location that fit the family’s rhythm. We hold client satisfaction conversations to ensure we are serving as promised.

We are proactive.
We are intellectually curious.
We seek innovative solutions when circumstances evolve.

Because life evolves.

Markets shift.
Families grow.
Needs change.

A trustee must be agile enough to adapt — and steady enough to remain constant.

Our Core

Advisor-Friendly at Our Core

We act as the catalyst that brings a family’s advisory team together—ensuring alignment, clarity and execution.

We work with both marketable securities and private,
illiquid or unique assets.

Our open architecture and custodially agnostic model means we focus exclusively on trust administration

Collaboration is not an afterthought. It is foundational.
